Reflections on the Scriptures by Jason Arsenault

It is God who Works in You

For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure

—Philippians 2:13

He works in you to give you the desire and the ability to do His pleasure

He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. There are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. May the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.

This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the LORD: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them. Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. You have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him

I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. To this end I also labor, striving according to His working which works in me mightily.
